Balloon Twisting
Learn to turn balloons into swords, dogs, flowers, hats, and whatever your imagination comes up with.
This hands-on workshop teaches the fundamentals of balloon twisting - from the basic twist to creating recognizable animals and objects. By the end, everyone walks away with their own balloon creation (and the skills to make more at home).
Perfect for:
Birthday parties (kids LOVE making their own creations)
School holiday programs (keeps kids engaged for ages)
Youth groups and scouts (skill-building that's actually fun)
Family events (parents often more excited than the kids)
Team building (yes, really - corporate groups love this)
What you'll learn:
How to inflate and tie balloons without your fingers going numb
The basic twist, lock twist, and fold twist
How to make a classic balloon dog (the gateway creation)
2-3 other designs (swords are always popular)
Troubleshooting when balloons pop (they will, it's fine)
How to source supplies and practice at home
What to expect:
Balloons WILL pop (it's part of learning, embrace it)
Loud noises (if you're sound-sensitive, we can provide ear defenders)
Frustration followed by triumph
Adults getting surprisingly competitive
Everyone leaving with at least one creation they're proud of
Sore fingers (we take breaks)
Skill level: Complete beginners welcome - no experience needed
What's included:
All balloons (quality 260Q balloons, not the cheap ones that pop immediately)
Hand pumps for everyone
Instruction cards to take home
Patient, clear instruction from someone who's twisted thousands of balloons
Encouragement when yours pops for the 17th time
What participants need:
Just themselves and a willingness to try
Short nails make it easier but not essential
Patience (this is harder than it looks but SO satisfying when you get it)
Duration: 60-90 minutes (depends on group size and age)
Ages: 6+ recommended (younger kids can participate with adult help)
Group size: 8-20 participants ideal (everyone gets hands-on time and individual help)
Why balloon twisting?
It's not just about making balloon animals (though that's fun too).
It teaches:
Fine motor skills and hand strength
Following sequential instructions
Problem-solving when things don't work
Persistence (because balloons WILL pop and you have to try again)
Spatial reasoning (how does this flat balloon become a 3D dog?)
Patience with the process
